Jacob goes to the Dentist

Well, Jake had his first trip to the dentist today and he did great! He went to Dr. Yarbrough who has been my dentist since the first time I went when I was 3. Dr. Y and his staff were so wonderful and said Jake was an excellent patient, one of the best 3 year olds they've had (I guess even better than me=)!) Jacob's teeth look great which made us very happy!!

The Gambler

Daddy, this one's for you!! I found the song and couldn't resist putting it on here. It reminds me of days back when I was little and my dad and I would sing all these songs in the car. Mom wasn't to thrilled with some of the songs we would sing and their story lines (ie, The Gambler, ha!!) as I can well understand now that I have my own children but it brings back great memories nonetheless. Hope you enjoy it Dad!!

Never go to the play area when there are storm clouds in the horizon...

This was still part of our July 4th weekend but it deserved it's own post entirely! On Saturday night we went to the Isotopes game. They're our Minor League Baseball team here in Albuquerque. They have a great play area for the kids at the far outfield part of the park. Blow up jumpers, slides, a whole climbing structure, games, all kinds of fun things to do. Of course we aren't there five minutes before Jacob is wanting to go play. We waited for a while and then decided to head over. Mom and I took the kids and our friends, The Langham's were there so Tracy and Luke came along too while Chuck, Jeff and Kevin stayed and watched the game. Luke and Jake were having a great time and then the sprinkles started. We were all huddled under a little METAL shelter thing when Mom realized it probably wasn't the best thing to be under with the lightening and stuff. So we started to walk out and the rain came and it came hard. We had the stroller so we couldn't just go running down the hill and we were on the complete opposite side of the "stroller friendly" part so off we went knowing far too well we were in for some soakin'! Little did we know HOW soaked we'd get! We were in the rain with tons of other people all trying to get to the same spot, shelter! It was heel to toe crowded. The rain just came faster and faster and harder. I had Jake and Mom was pushing Chase in the stroller when I looked backed and he was screaming. Even with the canopy thing from the stroller he was soaked and he did not like that one bit. I'm sure all the people were a little scary too. You could tell it was not the best of situations. So, I gave him to mom and told her to just push! Jake climbed in the stroller, he thought it was great, and Jake and I just weathered the storm. I wanted my mom and the baby to get out of the rain and finally, I could no longer see their heads in the sea of people. What an experience that was. We were in the rain for close to an hour and of course once we got under the roof, it stopped. We were so wet out clothes were still soaking the next morning! I can't even explain what it was like. Crazy, that's all I can say. When we got to Jeff who was waiting for us there was a woman having a panic attack. I'm tellin' ya, it was crazy. So, Jeff and I just pushed people out of the way so her son could get her to a less crowded area. It was nuts! After we all got back together and the rain was over Mom so kindly took the boys and got them dry clothes and we stayed and enjoyed the fireworks. I was positive that after that experience Chase was going to absolutely HATE them but he was actually quite amazed by them and sat silently just in awe. It was a great ending to a very crazy night! Thanks again Mom for being Chase's Hero and getting my baby out of the cold, scary rain!!

Our Forth of July Weekend...

We had a great Forth of July weekend this year! On the morning of the 4th we were invited to our friends, The Hebert's, who have a neighborhood parade with the kids, pets, firetrucks, etc. We went to their house to start the morning with some breakfast snacks and decorating the bikes, strollers and anything else that would get us to the park for the festivities. It was great fun and so wonderful to the the American spirit showing through. The other Wyatt's were there as well so it was nice to see family on such a great day. Once we got to the park there was a watermelon eating contest, face painting, cookie decorating, 4th of July tattoos (temporary of course!), Popsicles and lots of yummy stuff to eat and drink. Everyone was in their red, white and blue having a great time! Thanks Hebert Family for inviting us to such a great American event, we had an awesome time!!!

Jake was so excited after his nap to go to the "tent" and buy some fireworks. He had been seeing those tents all over town and just wanted to go inside. Finally he was able to and he was so excited. That night we decided to stay home with the four of us and do our own fireworks. We put Chase down at his normal bedtime and waited for it to be dark enough to do fireworks with Jake. He was having so much fun. You forget how exciting just the basic fireworks are to a child. He was in Heaven and looked on with amazment! It was sweet and brought back a lot of childhood memories. I didn't get any pictures of that night unfortnately, our flash wasn't working but we got lots of video with was fun.

Jeff's cousin David and his wife, Savanah, were in town and on Saturday morning we had a great visit with them up at Linda's house. Jay and Han and the kids were there so it was a nice excuse to see our niece and nephew again too! And of course Aunt Ash who is always a kid favorite!! The kids got to swim (thanks Savanah for braving the pool with them!) and we all got to relax and be in good company and great conversation.

This is Daddy, this is Mommy...

Jacob drew his first "real" picture of Jeff and I this weekend. I thought, "wow honey, I'm really skinny, thanks!" Jeff said, "I kindof look like a pig, great job buddy!" I wonder if this is how he really sees us...?

Why I'm Here...

I have a few friends that do the "blogspot" thing and I think it's great. It's easy for family and friends to check it out when they have the time and email accounts don't get weighed down with pictures of all of us!! HA HA!!
We have lots of friends and family that live away so I am hoping it is an easier way for them to keep up with the happenings of the Wyatt Family (if they so wish =)). Plus, my Daddy, Papa in Iraq, is in Iraq and the poor guy gets nothing in the way of pictures and updates of his two grandsons, sorry Dad, that's why I'm doing this, hopefully it will get better!
And last but not least, I am so horrible about sitting down, pulling out the baby book and writing stuff, gluing pictures etc. that I am hoping this will be my go to spot for funny things the kids say, great pictures and just little things in general I want to remember. It just seems so much easier to get on here and type and upload pictures than it does to sit down and write and glue and all the old stuff our parents and Grandparents did, how did they survive without technology!! HA!
So that's why we're here, I thought I'd give it a shot. Hopefully I will keep up with it for you all and ourselves!!
Thanks for visiting!!

I spy with my little eye...

Lately, Jacob and I have been playing the "I spy with my little eye" game. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this game, someone says, "I spy with my little eye something that is...." and they say the color or shape or whatever it may be you are looking for. The other person tries to guess what it is and so on.
Last night, while I was holding a tub of Gerber Puffs (a sweet little snack for babies, also known as "stars" in our house) giving them to Chase, Jake says, while looking around and then finally at us, "I spy with my little eye something that is...hmmmmm, something that is...SWEET!" I say, "Is it the stars!?" He says, "NO!! It's YOU!!" Then came running over and gave me a big hug around my leg!!
Yes, my heart melted! It was a definite "mommy moment"!
